Formula Continental is a single seater, open wheel racing An open-wheel car is a car with the wheels outside the car's main body, and usually having only one seat. Open-wheel cars contrast with street cars, Sports car racing, sports cars, Stock car racing, stock cars, and Touring car racing, touring car ... class in motorsports. It replaced Formula C as a Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racing class. Most Formula Continental cars are Formula Ford 2000 (FF2000) models, which is a flat bottomed, steel tube frame open wheel car with smaller wings and a 2-liter engine derived from the steel blocked Ford Pinto, Ford Zetec, or Mazda MZR engines. Reynard Motorsport was the world's largest racing car manufacturer in the 1980s. Initially based at Bicester and latterly at Reynard Park, Brackley, England the company built successful cars in Formula Ford 1600, Formula Ford 2000, Formula Vauxhall Lotus, Formula Three, Formula 3000 and Championship Auto Racing Teams, CART. Nolan Allaer
Nolan Allaer (born March 5, 2002) is an American racing driver. He currently competes in Indy NXT driving the No. 11 for HMD Motorsports. Career Allaer started racing at age 6 and in 2008 was competing in the Florida Karting Championship Series. His first race in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs garnered him a third place finish in the Formula Continental class. The following year at the SCCA Runoffs he won the Formula Continental class over Simon Sikes, current USF2000 Championship, and finished third in Formula F. Allaer joined Team Pelfrey in 2022 to compete in the F1600 Championship Series earning two wins and nine podiums. In 2023, he returned to the SCCA Runoffs and won the Formula Continental for the second time, with his father, Robert finishing second. Simon Sikes (born December 7, 2000) is an American racing driver. He currently competes in the USF2000 Championship with Pabst Racing. He is the 2023 USF2000 champion. Career USF2000 Championship Having competed in three part-time seasons of the USF2000 Championship from 2020 onwards, Sikes would complete a full season in the series in 2023 with Pabst Racing. Luo Yufeng (born June 24, 1998 in Beijing, China) is a Chinese-American racing driver. He is the 2015 Formula Continental champion and 2018 F4 Chinese Championship vice-champion. Career In his debut season, 2014, Luo raced in the Formula Continental and Pacific F2000 series. In the SCCA Majors Tour Western Conference Luo won at Tulsa Raceway Park. Peter Portante (born February 24, 1996) is an American racing driver. Peter Portante started his racing career at the age of 7 in karts. He quickly established himself as one of the up & coming drivers in the Northeast with the securing of many pole positions and wins on the Legend Car oval circuit and in the NASCAR Late Model division at Stafford Speedway. Catching the open wheel bug, Peter joined the Skip Barber Race Series in 2012 to hone his race craft. Andrew Prendeville (born October 5, 1981) is an American professional automobile racer. In 2004, Prendeville took second place in the Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 national championship.
